The new-generation Ford Ranger ute has been revealed, and there was plenty of input into the new ute from the engineering team at Ford Australia.
The Next-Gen #FordRanger Reveal – Our take on it!
The new 2023 Ford Ranger pickup and cab-chassis ute range will arrive in Australia in the second quarter of 2022, with a new exterior design and metalwork, a redesigned cabin, larger tub and cargo area that can finally fit a pallet in the pickup models, and there’s also a change to what you’ll find under the bonnet, too.
The new model will be offered with a 3.0-litre power stroke v6 diesel engine, likely reserved for high-grade variants only. The rest of the range scores a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine familiar to Transit van customers – it’ll come in single-turbo and twin-turbo tunes, replacing the old 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre four- and five-cylinder diesel engines respectively.
Some of the design highlights include a new integrated rear step to jump up into the tub, as well as redesigned load bearing tub rails, improved tie-down points, an integrated workbench in the restyled tailgate, access to tub-mount power sockets and more.
There will be XL, XLS, XLT, Sport and Wildtrak models at launch, with a 2024 Ford Ranger Raptor likely.
More info will be available at CarsGuide as it comes to hand. Stay tuned!
